The apple is small to medium-sized, firm and round in shape. They are covered in a thin, smooth yellow skin, highlighted with gentle red stripes.
Origin
Gala apples were developed as a cross between Golden Delicious and Kidd’s Orange Red, in New Zealand in 1934. Commercial distribution began in both Europe and the United States since 1962.
